Every day we are about simple solutions that will solve the world's problems. "Let's just use our oil," "Why are they world police," "Let's just close our borders," "let's just make secondary education free." All these ideas sound good on paper, but they will not work in reality. In this series of documents, notes, or whatever it is, I want to break down complicated, complex, and perplexing topics into layman's terms so we can understand them better.
I must thank a dear friend of mine for motivating me to take on this project. Most of our conversations were about economics, societal issues, morals, etc. He would usually place his opinion in concrete and then ask me about mine, and my response was always, "Well, it's complicated." So to my dear friend and my brother, thank you. I hope our friendship never dies and our minds only grow.
I don't expect anyone to get information from this page, but the reader and my sanity must lay out my thoughts. I do plan to be as pragmatic as possible. There will be sections where my biases will come in, but I will avoid them as much as possible. However, I will only know some things or connect some things. I plan on consulting with colleagues, professionals, and others who can incorporate well-written materials.
Regarding the materials I publish, I want to go in-depth, but I don't want it to get well... complicated. I also wish you don't hold these as the truths of your world because I will not do it in mine. I hope those who read this use it to gather some facts and not make conclusions but instead gather new observations and theories. Use this as a launch pad to create critical thinking, form your findings, and understand that this world is not black and white.
The first batch of articles will be crude, rough, and poorly thought out, but that is part of the learning process. I hope you bear with me as I learn how to crawl with these first articles. Then we can start running. Let's dive into it!
